CARDIAC REHAB

ArvaDell Sharp, RN, Cardiac Rehab, recently attended a workshop sponsored by MeritCare in Fargo on Core Components of Cardiac Rehab. Some of the topics included:

*Nutritional Counseling & Weight Management
*Diabetes Management
*Medicare Guidelines and Reimbursement Issues
*Lipid and Blood Pressure Management
*Tobacco Cessation
*Psychological Management
*Grant Writing

ArvaDell reports this was a very worthwhile workshop and will be beneficial to her and PCMH cardiac patients.

AUXILIARY MEETING

The Auxiliary met on Tuesday with eight members in attendance. It was noted that Audrey Puppe from St. Thomas won the quilt at their drawing in December. A check for $6,000 was given to the hospital towards the purchase of a critical care bed. They will be selling raffle tickets on three $50 drawings this year as part of their fundraising efforts. Dates were set for the Pie Social (June 10th) and the Fall Bazaar (September 26th). They will be donating a gift basket for the Hospice fundraiser. Jill Johnson attended the meeting and reported on the Rose Room being moved at Wedgewood , along with the new café’ concept for the former Formal Dining Room. Patti Cameron updated the group on the hospital side. Their next meeting will be held on June 2, 2009 in the hospital board room.
